Merck Medical Factory: A light retrofitting of Merck's existing production facility required fluorescent clean room fittings to be installed in the production areas to ensure no impurities could enter the laboratories and manufacturing areas and contaminate various medicines product that manufactured in this Merck Plant.
 
ECG was proposed in this clean room fixtures for energy saving and low maintenance purposes.
 
The Lighting supplier of this project has chosen 195 pcs Osram electronic ballast to be used in conjunction with Osram Lumilux 36W colour 840 lamps.
 
Based on simple calculation, approx. 20% energy was saved in this new lighting system :
 
Connected load for ECG = 72W/fitting x 195pcs = 14,040 watts
Connected load for CCG = 90W/fitting x 195pcs = 17,550 watts
 
Energy saving = 3,510 watts (20%)
