Taipei 101 Financial Tower: World tallest building in Taiwan 2004 !
 
The "101 Taipei"building, a 101-story, 508-meter skyscraper presently under construction, will be the world's tallest building upon completion next year 2004.
 
According to website international skyscraper.com, 8 of the world's top 10 skyscrapers are located in Asia.
 
In 1998, Kuala Lumpur's Petronas Twin Towers replaced the 442-meter Sears Tower in Chicago as the world's tallest building, ending the Sears Tower's reign of nearly 20 years.
 
When completed, Taipei 101 will take top spot and be followed in order by the Petronas Twin Towers, the Sears Tower, the Jin Mao Building in Shanghai and the International Finance Center in Hong Kong.
 
Taipei 101, to be mainly used as the Taipei Financial Center, will house a giant shopping mall occupying the basement first floor to the fourth floor, with the ninth to 84th floors to be given over for office space and the remaining floors to be used for health club, galleries, conference centers, business clubs, restaurants and an observatory.
 
Among its breakthrough facilities is an elevator to the observation deck on the 91st floor - the fastest in the world. It takes only 35 seconds to reach the top.
 
The project, initiated by the Taipei City Government, will be managed by the Taipei Financial Centre Corp, which has a 70-year lease on the building.
 
At this moment, OSRAM has delivered all relavant lamps and gears to the project. The project was devided into two parts - Podium and Tower. Totally 22,000 pcs of FH28/830 will be used in the public area for podium and tower. Certainly, there are also lots of metal halide lamp, such as HCI-T,TS and higher wattage of HQI for indoor and outdoor lighting, thousands of Dulux T/E 26w,42w and QT-M gear also installed every floor in the podium.
 
As a result, Taipei 101 Financial Tower will be not only the tallest building in the world but also the most beautiful lighting in the world.
