Checkpoint Charlie Symbolism
In 1998 a finance and service centre with the symbolic name "Checkpoint Charlie" was built on Friedrichstraße in Berlin. Employing high-intensity 16mm FQ 39W and 54W lamps in elegant pendant luminaires, Checkpoint Charlie is now providing a unique link to futuristic lighting.
The slim ECG QUICKTRONIC QT-FQ with its minimal cross-section can be easily integrated into the elegantly designed luminaires. This was a prerequisite for the elegant yet efficient lighting solution which employs pendant luminaires fitted with the slim 16mm fluorescent lamps.
The 35% direct : 65% indirect light distribution ratio achieved by the pendant luminaires provides the optimal basis for ideal lighting.
